E&S Senior Consultant

About the role

A growing organisation in Morocco is looking for a full-time E&S Senior Consultant to work daily with financial institutions in emerging markets, helping them embed sustainability into their business while delivering returns. The role is dynamic and requires managing several workstreams and priorities at once.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage environmental and social (E&S) due diligence and project independent monitoring in emerging markets, including Morocco
• Contribute to E&S management systems, E&S training and capacity building, and strategy advisory work for financial institutions (e.g. TCFD, 2x Challenge, Paris Agreement)
• Apply innovative approaches to land acquisition, human rights, carbon and climate change, ESG reporting, job quality, gender impact investing and green finance
• Work with banks, funds and other investors, and with subject matter experts to turn insights into client guidance and strategies
• Manage projects end to end: deliverables, resourcing, site visits, financial management and client liaison
• Develop and sell to new and existing clients, prepare proposals and marketing materials, and build stakeholder relationships
• Recruit, mentor and coach team members

Required profile

• Experience delivering medium, large and complex due diligence assessments in emerging markets, familiar with standards such as IFC Performance Standards and Equator Principles
• Ability to conduct E&S-related training
• Ability to analyse technical information, identify ESG risks and opportunities and propose pragmatic solutions
• Entrepreneurial spirit and passion for sustainability
• Excellent grasp of French, English and Arabic, including writing
• Ability to supervise project teams and mentor junior staff
