Fiber Network Planner (Damascus)

About the role

The Fiber Network Planner will design and validate fiber routes, topology, capacity and splicing plans for our projects in Damascus. You will ensure that all records are implementation‑ready and aligned with service and transport requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive fiber network plans covering backbone, metro, access, inter‑site connectivity, route diversity and PoP/site interconnections.
• Analyse existing fiber inventory, GIS data, duct routes, ODF records, splice diagrams and field survey outputs to identify gaps and constraints.
• Prepare route plans, fiber allocation, cable/core utilization views, ODF/patching requirements and diversity assessments.
• Coordinate with civil works, field survey, implementation, operations and vendor teams to validate routes, distances, feasibility and access.
• Define naming conventions, route identifiers, core assignments, splice references and documentation standards.
• Reconcile planned records with physical inventory, as‑built documentation and circuit data, and identify risks such as single points of failure or capacity shortfalls.
• Maintain planning trackers and deliver clean datasets for inventory updates and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in fiber network planning, OSP/ISP design, telecom rollout or fiber inventory engineering.
• Strong understanding of fiber topology, ODFs, splicing, patching, cable structures, route diversity, GIS and as‑built documentation.
• Fluency in both Arabic and English is mandatory.
• Relevant certifications (fiber optic design/installation, FTTx/OSP planning) are a plus.
