Hardware Engineer

About the role

As a Hardware Engineer you will join ALTEN's engineering teams in Morocco to design and develop printed circuit boards for high‑tech projects across automotive, railway, IT, R&D and telecom sectors. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure that designs meet performance, reliability and manufacturability targets.

Key responsibilities

• Place electronic components (ICs, resistors, capacitors, connectors, etc.) on PCB layouts.
• Route signal, power and ground traces while managing multilayer stack‑ups.
• Ensure signal integrity, EMC/EMI compliance, thermal performance and overall reliability.
• Apply design rules and manufacturing constraints such as DFM, DFA and DFT.
• Prepare manufacturing documentation including Gerbers, ODB++, pick‑and‑place files and BOMs.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (BAC+5) in embedded systems or related engineering field.
• At least one successful experience in electronics hardware design or PCB layout.
• Strong understanding of electronics schematics and PCB manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC‑2221, IPC‑7351, IPC‑A‑610 is a plus).
• Basic knowledge of signal and power integrity concepts.
• Attention to detail, ability to read datasheets and application notes, and good problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• PCB design and component placement.
• Trace routing and multilayer stack‑up management.
• Signal integrity, EMC/EMI and thermal analysis.
• Design for manufacturability (DFM), assembly (DFA) and testing (DFT).
• Generation of Gerber, ODB++ and pick‑and‑place files.
• Knowledge of IPC‑2221, IPC‑7351, IPC‑A‑610 standards.
