Incoming Quality Engineer

About the role

The Incoming Quality Engineer will support the automotive production plant by ensuring that all incoming parts meet quality standards. You will work closely with suppliers, internal teams, and customers to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage supplier and customer quality complaints, handling non‑conformities using tools such as 8D, QRQC, 5M, 5 Whys, PPAP, APQP and FMEA.
• Monitor and charge‑back supplier non‑quality costs, submit complaint cost reports, and negotiate credits.
• Oversee scrap management, returns of defective goods, and product display decisions (scrap, returns, blocked stock adjustments).
• Coordinate sorting activities and qualification of the Incoming Quality team, ensuring training and development.
• Handle non‑conformities from customer audits, communicate action plans, and follow up on findings.
• Participate in new project development, serial transfer, and support plant quality improvements through process audits.
• Maintain and calibrate measuring instruments and perform MSA studies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (BAC+5) or Engineering Diploma.
• 1‑2 years of experience in the automotive industry, specifically in supplier and customer quality management.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset, ability to prioritize, and excellent English communication skills.
• Organized, stress‑resistant, proactive self‑starter with conflict‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Quality tools: 8D, QRQC, 5M, 5 Whys, PPAP, APQP, FMEA.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949, VDA, CSR and other quality standards.
• Proficiency with SAP and customer portals.
• Technical drawing interpretation.
• Instrumentation management and calibration.
• Measurement System Analysis (MSA) studies.
