Kitchen Assistant (Commis de Cuisine)

About the role

The Rabat Marriott Hotel is seeking a motivated Kitchen Assistant (Commis de Cuisine) to support its Food & Beverage operations. You will work in a fast‑paced hotel kitchen, preparing ingredients, cooking under supervision, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring and mixing according to recipes.
• Cook and assemble hot and cold dishes, operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Test food for doneness, monitor quality, and ensure proper presentation.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in correct portions, and maintain a clean, sanitized kitchen environment.
• Check appliance and food temperatures, follow safety and security policies, and report any maintenance or safety issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification required.

Required skills

• Operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Food preparation techniques including chopping, portioning, measuring and mixing.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation and temperature control procedures.
