Lead DevOps Engineer – Remote

About the role

We are looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to own and evolve our DevOps practices across remote teams. In this senior position you will design, implement and optimise cloud‑based infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and automation to enable reliable and scalable software delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement software configuration management, build and deployment processes with a focus on automation and cost/performance optimisation.
• Create and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code using Terraform and pipelines that automate onboarding and off‑boarding of cloud resources.
• Provide operational support for services running on AWS and on‑premise environments, including performance testing and system optimisation.
• Automate server installations and AI model configuration (Ollama / VLLM) using Ansible.
• Collaborate with developers, architects and stakeholders to ensure secure, reliable and efficient software delivery.
• Drive best practices around monitoring, GitOps, Gitlab CI and continuous delivery.

Required profile

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• At least 5 years of professional experience, including 2 years in a lead or similar DevOps role.
• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent.
• Hands‑on, proactive mindset with the ability to work autonomously in a remote‑first environment.

Required skills

• Linux system administration and networking (TCP/IP, VPNs, routing).
• Git, GitOps, Gitlab CI.
• Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, ArgoCD.
• AWS services (EC2, EKS, IAM, CloudTrail, S3, VPC, etc.).
• Docker, ContainerD, Packer.
• Programming in Python or Golang.
