Lead Engineer – Commercial Systems

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Engineer to own the development and optimisation of our user‑facing commercial platform. The platform is central to how customers interact with our products, giving you a direct impact on both user experience and business operations. You will work within the Commercial Operations team and collaborate closely with engineering, finance, sales and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Act as project manager for releases, communicating timelines and advising on roadmap.
• Manage and mentor junior developers.
• Build and maintain APIs, services and multi‑platform systems.
• Design scalable backend solutions with proper database optimisation.
• Develop Vue controls and components for end‑user functionality.
• Coordinate with UX designers, data engineers and other development teams.
• Review code, conduct pull‑request reviews and perform quality assurance testing.
• Support the Support team in troubleshooting and responding to customer inquiries.
• Assist with debugging, deployments and breaking features into manageable tasks.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software development experience, preferably across a full product lifecycle.
• Project‑management experience with a product‑mindset.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor junior developers.
• Comfort with legacy systems, including SOAP.
• Willingness to use AI coding tools.
