Lead System Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Lead System Engineer to own the design, implementation and continuous improvement of our core infrastructure. The role works closely with engineering, security and operations to deliver secure, scalable and highly‑available systems that power our digital services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable, secure infrastructure across Linux and Windows Server environments.
• Define systems architecture, engineering standards and best practices.
• Monitor system health, optimise performance and ensure high availability.
• Manage integrations, upgrades, patching and routine maintenance.
• Troubleshoot complex issues, perform root‑cause analysis and implement long‑term fixes.
• Lead technical projects from planning through execution.
• Mentor and guide engineering team members.
• Automate operational tasks through scripting and tooling.
• Participate in incident response and post‑incident reviews.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in systems or infrastructure engineering.
• 2+ years leading technical projects or mentoring engineers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

Required skills

• Hands‑on administration of Linux and/or Windows Server.
• Strong troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis abilities.
• Experience with automation and scripting.
• Knowledge of scalable, secure and highly‑available system design.
