Legal Counsel (Compliance)

About the role

Save the Children International is seeking a Legal Counsel (Compliance) to join its global Legal team. The role will support the Head of Legal Compliance, providing pragmatic legal advice to high‑risk country offices and collaborating with operations teams to embed compliance frameworks across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality legal and regulatory advice to country offices and global teams.
• Support the development, implementation and monitoring of compliance frameworks.
• Represent the Legal team in cross‑functional meetings and committees.
• Provide updates to the Audit & Risk Committee on legal compliance matters.
• Assist in crisis situations, adapting working hours as needed.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with experience in compliance, regulatory risk and international NGOs.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple time zones (GMT ± 3).
• Strong analytical and solution‑oriented mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
