Legal Counsel – International Programme Delivery

About the role

Save the Children International is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its global legal team. The role will support the delivery of international programmes, providing strategic legal advice to country offices and global teams across five regions.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on legal risk and contractual matters for international programming operations, including procurement, awards, finance and partnership agreements.
• Provide guidance on governance requirements for a global non‑profit organization.
• Lead specific contractual and legal risk projects and manage relationships with designated global teams.
• Support transformation delivery projects involving complex technology and process changes.
• Assist the legal team with pro‑bono law firm relationships, internal training initiatives and mentorship of junior staff.
• Participate in crisis response, adapting working hours as needed during humanitarian emergencies.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with experience in international non‑profit or humanitarian contexts.
• Strong understanding of commercial contracting, procurement and supply‑chain law.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple regions and functions.
• Proactive attitude toward mentorship and team development.
