Modelling Actuary - Life & Health (Casablanca)

About the role

SCOR, a global reinsurer, is hiring a Modelling Actuary for its new Actuarial Hub in Casablanca. You will join a Life & Health (L&H) Modelling Team (US, APAC or EMEA) and design and update L&H reserving modelling capabilities, building models and tools used by Reserving Teams for reporting across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Work with stakeholders to understand their modelling and reporting needs and provide modelling expertise
• Build and test new capabilities in the model and quantify the impact of changes or produce new analyses, which may be presented to senior management
• Improve end-to-end modelling processes, aiming for full automation of the quarterly Model Production process
• Manage stakeholder relationships with IT and Data, Experience Analysis, Pricing, In-force management and other Finance teams

Required profile

• 7 years of relevant experience in insurance or reinsurance in a valuation, reserving, cashflow analysis or actuarial modelling context
• Qualified actuary
• Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, engineering, physics or an equivalent quantitative field
• Fluent English
• Strong communication, teamwork and ownership, with interest in career development

Required skills

• Actuarial database software, including SQL
• Programming languages such as Python
• Actuarial modelling platforms (Prophet, AXIS, MoSes, Milliman Mind or equivalent); strong expertise is a distinct advantage
• Understanding of Life & Health (re)insurance and reserving, and exposure to IFRS 17 or Solvency II
• Advanced ability to analyse financial impacts and drivers of change
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint)
