Nursery Agronomist – Sidi Bouknadel (Morocco)

About the role

The Operations Department at Driscoll's is seeking a Nursery Agronomist to lead the production of high‑quality berry plants for growers in Morocco. Based in Sidi Bouknadel, you will ensure timely, full deliveries of plants that meet strict quality standards while contributing to the region’s genetic knowledge.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the farming manager to implement best agronomic practices and achieve optimal plant quality.
• Introduce and adapt innovative growing techniques to enhance plant performance.
• Monitor crops for pests and diseases, applying sustainable Integrated Pest Management (IPM) methods.
• Design and manage fertilizer programs for both substrate and soil production systems, coordinating with the irrigation specialist.
• Maintain technical records and ensure compliance with certification requirements.
• Assist the Nursery manager in weekly work planning for each crop.
• Engage regularly with growers to gather feedback on nursery services.

Required profile

• Pre‑graduate or Master’s degree in Agronomic Engineering.
• 3‑5 years of horticulture experience, preferably with berry crops.
• Experience with irrigation systems, substrate production, and hydroponic techniques.
• Familiarity with IPM and Rubus long cane production is an asset.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English (both written and spoken).
• Proven ability to work independently and within a large farming operation.
