Product Configuration & BOM Engineer

About the role

As a Product Configuration & BOM Engineer within the Heinemann product line, you will be the technical authority responsible for creating, validating, and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs) throughout the product lifecycle. You will ensure that product structures are accurate, manufacturable, and compliant with SAP and industry standards while supporting internal teams and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end creation, structuring, and maintenance of Manufacturing BOMs (MBOMs) in SAP for the Heinemann portfolio.
• Lead BOM validation activities before release, guaranteeing technical accuracy, completeness, and manufacturability.
• Drive BOM lifecycle management, handling updates and engineering changes via Change Master and Engineering Change Records (ECR) to maintain traceability and audit compliance.
• Facilitate the transition from Engineering BOM (EBOM) to MBOM, translating design data into production‑ready structures.
• Support the migration from legacy systems to modern tools such as SAP or BidManager, including knowledge transfer and training.
• Provide backup and technical support to Application Engineering when required.

Required profile

• Strong technical background in product configuration, BOM management, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience interfacing with Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Management, and SAP Master Data teams.
• Ability to ensure data consistency, traceability, and integrity across the product lifecycle.
