Project Engineer – Water & Wastewater Treatment

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to lead high‑quality technical projects in the water and wastewater treatment sector across the North & West Africa region. You will work closely with sales, customers, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery from concept to commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute engineering projects, maintaining high‑quality standards for water and wastewater treatment applications.
• Collaborate with sales teams and customers from discovery through full project development.
• Lead project execution, including contract negotiations, commercial terms, logistics, delivery, and commissioning.
• Monitor equipment testing and assembly at supplier facilities or customer sites.
• Prepare technical documentation such as data sheets, specifications, RFQs, drawings, installation sketches, and O&M manuals.
• Coordinate activities with Project Support, Service Technicians, and DBI partners (Design, Build & Install).
• Produce complete project documentation: Scope of Work, Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Technical Sheets, Maintenance Protocols.
• Participate in trials and start‑ups of new equipment technologies and provide training and technical support to sales teams and customers.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental policies and submit regular project status reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of field experience in water or wastewater treatment projects.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with customers, sales teams, contractors, and operations staff.
• Understanding of engineering regulations and proven knowledge in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation & Automation engineering.
• Willingness to travel extensively (50 %+).
• Native proficiency in a local language and fluent English and French.
