Senior Team Lead, Avionics & Flight Software

About the role

Harmattan AI is seeking a Senior Team Lead to own the complete flight computer stack for autonomous defense systems. Based in Rabat, you will drive the concept, architecture, development and flight‑validation of avionics and flight software, ensuring safety‑critical performance in real missions.

Key responsibilities

• Build, lead and grow a cross‑disciplinary team covering electronics, embedded software and guidance‑navigation‑control (GNC).
• Define and implement the flight controller hardware architecture, select and integrate sensors such as IMU, GNSS, barometer and magnetometer, and manage board bring‑up.
• Own the full software chain – drivers, board support package, firmware and release process – with rigorous safety compliance.
• Develop and validate control loops, sensor‑fusion algorithms and navigation solutions on hardware and during flight tests.
• Perform cost‑versus‑accuracy trade‑offs to meet strict unit‑cost constraints for production volumes.
• Coordinate with airframe, propulsion, ground‑segment and RF teams, handling vehicle‑side datalink integration.
• Lead system reviews, integration, prototyping, flight‑test support and qualification evidence.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in embedded systems, avionics or flight software within defense, aerospace or robotics.
• Proven track record of taking a flight controller or autopilot from concept to production, preferably under tight cost constraints.
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Aerospace, Robotics or related field (experience may outweigh degree).
• Hands‑on, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to make and defend first‑principles design decisions away from headquarters.
