Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer

About the role

As a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer at Lear, you will ensure that all incoming components meet the highest quality standards for automotive wiring systems. You will work closely with suppliers to monitor performance, drive continuous improvement, and support Lear's commitment to safety, innovation, and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and manage the incoming inspection organization for component verification.
• Monitor supplier claims, conduct investigations (G8D), and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Approve component PPAP submissions and perform Fit and Function testing on new parts.
• Audit supplier warehouses, picking areas, and transportation trucks for compliance.
• Track component shelf life, storage conditions, and manage supplier‑initiated changes.
• Identify under‑performing suppliers and follow up on action‑plan effectiveness.
• Participate in control‑plan and PFMEA development and ensure their execution.
• Ensure suppliers use problem‑solving methodologies and quality tools.
• Report quality KPIs accurately and support customer audit requirements.
• Coach and develop the internal quality team in daily tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (Bac+5) in engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of quality experience in the automotive wiring industry.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret specifications, requirements, and drawings.

Required skills

• PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) management.
• PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis) development.
• Control‑plan creation and execution.
• Problem‑solving tools: G8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa (fishbone), Is/Is‑Not analysis.
• Component inspection and Fit‑Function testing.
• Supplier audit and corrective‑action follow‑up.
• Quality KPI reporting.
