Systems & Infrastructure Operations Engineer

About the role

Scalian is looking for a Systems & Infrastructure Operations Engineer to ensure the continuity and evolution of its Group IT infrastructure. The role is hands‑on, focusing on daily operations, infrastructure reliability and user service continuity across an international, multi‑site environment while also supporting technical improvement projects.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, administer and maintain Windows Server environments on a daily basis.
• Administer VMware virtualization platforms (vSphere, vCenter, VxRail) and related infrastructure.
• Monitor health, availability, capacity and backup execution of the infrastructure.
• Manage the full server lifecycle: provisioning, configuration, inventory, patching, upgrades and decommissioning.
• Administer backup and recovery solutions, investigate failures and perform regular restoration tests.
• Handle Level 2 and Level 3 incidents and service requests, including diagnosis, resolution, escalation and follow‑up.
• Perform routine operational activities, preventive maintenance and support application teams with provisioning and troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate operating procedures, inventories, technical documentation and knowledge articles.
• Contribute to service continuity, operational handovers, knowledge sharing and integration of new entities.
• Apply security patches, remediate vulnerabilities, enforce Windows hardening standards and support ISO 27001 compliance.
• Analyse recurring incidents, propose corrective actions and automate repetitive tasks using PowerShell or Ansible.

Required profile

• Strong operational mindset with the ability to manage day‑to‑day infrastructure tasks.
• Experience handling Level 2/3 incidents and providing high‑quality support.
• Good understanding of IT service continuity, documentation and knowledge‑sharing practices.
• Ability to work in an international, multi‑site environment and collaborate with various business teams.
