Terminal Supervisor

About the role

APM Terminals Tangier is recruiting a Terminal Supervisor to report to the Shift Manager and lead operational teams during shifts. The role helps ensure safe, efficient and reliable terminal operations in a diverse, multinational environment, with a direct impact on shift performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and motivate operational teams to deliver safe and productive shift performance, staying visible and accessible across the terminal.
• Coordinate operational activities within the assigned vessel, yard or gate area and act as the focal point for operational issues.
• Plan daily tasks, set priorities and allocate staff and equipment under the direction of the Shift Manager.
• Monitor execution and minimise quay crane idle time to keep operations smooth and continuous.
• Coach employees, give clear operational guidance, maintain discipline and escalate violations when required.
• Supervise outsourced equipment operators so their work meets operational standards.
• Promote safe working practices, carry out process control checks and support performance improvements through Lean principles and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience in container terminal operations or a similar operational environment.
• Strong understanding of container terminal operations, including vessel cargo logistics and yard and gate activities.
• Solid knowledge of hazardous and special cargo handling, IMO regulations, international safety standards and safe working practices.
• Leadership, communication, coaching and problem-solving skills; fluent English and the ability to stay calm and decisive in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.
