Tool Shop Manager

About the role

The Tool Shop Manager leads the tool and machining areas, ensuring reliable operation of injection molds and machining equipment. This role is responsible for preventive maintenance, continuous improvement, and coordination with internal teams and external suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans for all injection molds used in the Molding department.
• Organise repair, maintenance and capital investment projects for molds and machining equipment.
• Coordinate ordering, manufacturing and supplier claim processes for new‑business mold projects.
• Maintain 5S standards across the office, toolshop, machining workshop and storage areas.
• Monitor, report and improve KPIs, lead audit preparations and conduct Layered Process Audits.
• Support new product introductions, process development and cross‑department technical solutions.
• Manage staffing levels, employee development, recruitment, vacation planning and overtime control.
• Ensure compliance with quality, health‑safety, fire safety, environmental regulations and budget targets.

Required profile

• University degree in Engineering or at least 10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with injection molding and machining.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, 5S and quality‑assurance standards.
• Business‑level English with solid communication and negotiation skills.
• Process‑oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
