5G Back-Office RAN Engineer

About the role

Ericsson is seeking a 5G Back‑Office RAN Engineer to support the configuration, monitoring and optimisation of 5G Radio Access Network elements. You will work with OSS and NETAN tools to ensure stable day‑to‑day RAN operations, incident resolution and performance management.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, configure and manage 5G RAN elements (gNBs, DU/CU, small cells) using OSS/NETAN tools.
• Perform fault management activities, including alarm handling, root‑cause analysis, ticket ownership and SLA tracking.
• Analyse network performance KPIs and support corrective actions to improve availability and quality.
• Support activation and parameterisation of 5G features and execute configuration changes for new site integration and upgrades.
• Produce operational reports, RCA documentation and maintain accurate network inventory in OSS/CMDB systems.
• Provide L1/L2 operational support and act as an escalation point for complex RAN incidents.
• Contribute to process improvements, documentation and basic automation activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in mobile RAN operations or engineering with exposure to 5G.
• Hands‑on experience with RAN OSS/NETAN and vendor EMS/NMS platforms (Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei or equivalent).
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with good written and verbal English communication.
