Accounting Specialist

About the role

An international company is looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join its finance department in Casablanca. You will oversee day-to-day accounting transactions, ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and support monthly and yearly financial closing in an international corporate environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage general ledger accounting, accounts payable/receivable and bank reconciliations under Moroccan accounting standards (Code Général de la Comptabilité Marocaine).
• Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual closings using SAP.
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations (VAT, Corporate Tax, Income Tax) and timely filing of statutory declarations.
• Support financial reporting and auditing, providing analytical data in Excel.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and international stakeholders in English on financial reporting and inquiries.
• Assist in alignment with IFRS standards for periodic consolidation or corporate reporting.

Required profile

• Master's degree (Bac+5) in Accounting, Finance, Management or a related field.
• 2 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in an international or multinational company.
• In-depth knowledge of Moroccan accounting laws and tax regulations.
• Fluent English (written and spoken); fluency in French is essential.
• High accuracy, strong analytical thinking, autonomy, organization and effective communication.

Required skills

• SAP (FI/CO modules)
• Advanced Excel (data analysis, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, complex formulas)
• IFRS exposure is a strong advantage
