AI Applications & Data Science Consultant

About the role

You will join Talan's global R&D environment, developing and maintaining AI‑driven applications that support researchers in data analysis, statistical modelling, predictive insights and dashboarding. The role bridges business users and technical teams to ensure tools are reliable, scalable and aligned with real user needs.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve bugs, performance issues, and data pipeline failures in AI algorithms.
• Maintain and enhance existing Shiny (R) and Streamlit (Python) applications.
• Ensure application stability after platform or dependency updates.
• Design and develop new interactive modules such as dashboards, analytics tools and reporting apps.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Optimize and refactor Python and R codebases for performance and readability.
• Manage data pipelines, APIs, databases and file connectors.
• Conduct testing (UAT, unit, integration) and document developments in French and English.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of professional experience in Python and/or R development.
• Hands‑on experience with Shiny (R) and/or Streamlit (Python).
• Strong debugging and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with data scientists, statisticians and business users.
