APU Quality Engineer – Lighting Activity

About the role

Valeo is seeking an APU Quality Engineer for its Lighting Activity. You will work on the shop‑floor to ensure product quality, drive rapid problem resolution and support continuous improvement across the assembly line.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate QRQC entries in the QIM database and validate containment actions.
• Support APU and Site Managers in analysing issues identified during QRQC activities.
• Maintain quality tracking charts such as Customer Returns and Cost of Non‑Quality.
• Conduct line audits to detect non‑conformities, propose corrective actions and ensure compliance with standards.
• Participate in the eradication of customer and internal non‑quality issues.
• Enforce QRQC meeting rules, including “Stop at first disagree” and “Stop at first no”.
• Revise control plans after incidents and verify 4M matrix compliance for product or process changes.
• Update quality documentation following any process change.
• Verify continuous process conformance to specifications, including machine capability and yearly product audits.
• Exercise authority to stop the line when safety or quality risks are detected.
• Represent the customer on quality matters within Valeo and communicate escalations.

Required skills

• Experience with QRQC methodology.
• Proficiency in using a QIM (Quality Issue Management) database.
• Knowledge of control‑plan revision and 4M matrix analysis.
• Ability to conduct quality audits and generate audit reports.
• Authority to enforce line‑stop decisions based on safety/quality criteria.
