Automation Technician – Wipers Activity

About the role

Valeo is looking for an Automation Technician to support the Wipers activity on its automated assembly lines. You will ensure equipment availability, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive continuous improvement in a fast‑paced industrial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on robotics, vision systems and automated lines.
• Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic and PLC (Siemens, Allen Bradley) programming problems to minimise downtime.
• Analyse OEE, TRP and cycle‑time data to identify bottlenecks and implement improvements.
• Participate in daily QRQC meetings, lead root‑cause analysis using PDCA, FTA and 5 Whys, and execute P‑30 productivity actions.
• Apply TPM standards, conduct LOTO procedures, and support Level 1 maintenance training for operators.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory for automation components and keep technical documentation up to date.
• Lead VPS workshops (5S, Hoshin, MUDA hunting) and support Kaizen initiatives.
• Collaborate with industrialisation teams during line installations, retrofits and energy‑efficiency projects.

• PLC programming – Siemens and Allen Bradley.
• HMI development and modification.

• TPM implementation and LOTO safety procedures.

• Technical documentation and SOP updates.
