Automotive Requirements Management Engineer

About the role

The Automotive Requirements Management Engineer will support the development of automotive software requirements using IBM DOORS. You will be responsible for scripting, data handling and reporting to ensure accurate and traceable requirements throughout the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain DXL scripts for data import/export in IBM DOORS.
• Create and manage DOORS attributes, validate baselines and ensure correct linking of sub‑modules.
• Implement multi‑export solutions from DOORS to Excel and perform specialized data extraction for reporting and analysis.
• Adapt and use VBA macros in Excel for efficient searching, data manipulation and automated status reports (PowerQuery).
• Support requirement management activities for component‑level and cross‑sectional (Querschnitts) domains, including variant and version configuration.
• Customize and optimise DOORS modules through DXL scripting to handle variant and version management.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the automotive sector.
• At least 2 years of hands‑on experience with IBM DOORS DXL scripting (import/export automation).
• Strong knowledge of requirements management, especially component and cross‑sectional areas.
• Proven experience in variant and version management.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, including PowerQuery and VBA scripting.
• Excellent English communication skills (C1 level or higher) and strong analytical mindset.
