BI Backend & Semantic Model Specialist

About the role

NTT DATA is seeking a BI Backend & Semantic Model Specialist to design, build and maintain advanced Power BI semantic models and support data provisioning through Microsoft Fabric. The role will collaborate with data, BI, architecture and front‑end teams to translate business KPIs into robust technical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable Power BI semantic models, including relationships, hierarchies, measures, KPIs and calculation logic.
• Implement business KPI definitions and reusable measures using advanced DAX.
• Prepare and provision curated data through Microsoft Fabric for Power BI and other analytics applications.
• Integrate data from APIs, files, ADX/Azure and other enterprise sources.
• Optimize model performance, DAX queries, refresh processes, aggregations and incremental loads.
• Troubleshoot data, refresh and performance issues across Fabric and Power BI.
• Collaborate with Data, BI, Architecture and Front‑End teams.

Required profile

• Senior hands‑on experience with Power BI semantic models and enterprise BI solutions.
• Advanced DAX and data‑modeling skills.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI Service and SQL.
• Experience with Lakehouse, Data Warehouse and curated reporting structures.
• Knowledge of data integration using APIs, files and Azure/ADX sources.
• Understanding of BI performance optimisation, refresh and deployment pipelines.
• Ability to translate business KPIs into robust technical models.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
