Business Development Associate

About the role

The Business Development Associate will research target markets and companies, then reach out to map who they are, what they buy, and whether there is a fit. This position focuses on research and outreach rather than closing sales.

Key responsibilities

• Research companies, sectors, and opportunities using public sources, directories, and internal lists.
• Build and maintain clean target lists with company, contact, activity, notes, and next steps.
• Contact companies by email and phone, introduce the firm and ask structured questions.
• Hold introductory calls to understand the company’s work, needs, and decision process.
• Capture call notes and feed findings back in a short, usable format.
• Track outreach activity, responses, and insights.
• Flag relevant partners, vendors, or bid‑related leads for the managing director.
• Keep research files and shared folders organized and up to date.

Required profile

• Fluent written and spoken English – mandatory for calls and emails with US companies.
• Comfortable picking up the phone and talking to unknown companies.
• Strong research habits: find the right company, the right person, and a usable fact.
• Clear, concise writing for emails and call summaries.
• Organized, persistent follow‑up without being asked twice.
• Discretion with commercial information.
• Good Excel skills.
• Nice to have: experience in research, BD support, sales support, or account coordination; familiarity with US companies.
