CAD Designer – Mechanical Parts (Automotive)

About the role

ALTEN Morocco is seeking a CAD Designer to create and develop 3D models of mechanical parts for the automotive sector. The role involves both the creation and development phases of sheet‑metal, plastic, and cast components, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop 3D models of mechanical parts made of sheet metal, plastic, or cast materials.
• Create and update 2D assembly and sub‑assembly drawings following ISO dimensioning standards.
• Verify assembly and clearance gaps using tolerance stack‑up calculations.
• Monitor workload while adhering to quality processes and deadlines.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to converge on robust technical solutions.
• Conduct feasibility studies through to Release Order (RO) phase and release documentation in PLM tools such as 3DCOM.
• Analyze supplier feedback (2D/3D) to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
• Write progress reports and ensure knowledge capitalization for the scope of work.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Engineering degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• 1‑3 years of experience designing interior and exterior equipment parts, including plastic components.
• Good knowledge of the automotive industry and its components.
• Proficiency with CATIA, Siemens NX and related design software.

Required skills

• CATIA (3D and 2D), Siemens NX, PLM/Enovia/3DCOM.
• TCAE, Unigraphics, Teamcenter.
• 3D and 2D modeling, tolerance stack‑up calculations.
• ASME dimensioning system.
• Injection‑molding design criteria (draft angles, parting lines, undercuts).
• Feasibility study execution.
