Certified Medication Aide – Part‑Time Day Shift

About the role

The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) provides safe administration of oral medications, eye drops, and suppositories to residents in a senior living center. This part‑time, day‑shift position supports nursing staff by delivering prescribed treatments and assisting with daily resident care.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and administer all scheduled and PRN medications accurately and timely.
• Chart medication administration results and alert the Charge Nurse if a PRN dose is ineffective.
• Maintain and restock medication and treatment carts at the end of each shift.
• Assist Nurse Aides with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and meal support.
• Observe residents, note changes, and report any medication or treatment errors immediately.
• Apply aseptic technique to prevent infection and follow all safety policies.

Required profile

• Successful completion of state‑mandated Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) and Certified Medication Aide (CMA) courses and exams.
• Current, timely recertification and an acceptable KBI background check.
• Ability to read, write, perform basic calculations, and follow oral and written instructions.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb with assistance and use safety equipment such as lifts and gait belts.
• Reliable, detail‑oriented, and able to work harmoniously with co‑workers.
