Chef de Rang - Rabat Marriott Hotel

About the role

The Rabat Marriott Hotel is looking for a full-time Chef de Rang (non-management position) in its food and beverage team. The role centres on serving guests, supporting the kitchen and maintaining high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests and set tables according to event type and service standards.
• Answer questions about menu selections and communicate menu issues, wait times, re-cook orders and product availability to the kitchen.
• Pass on meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs and special requests to the kitchen.
• Record transactions in the MICROS system at the time of order and check in with guests after each course to confirm satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china and glassware, and complete closing duties such as restocking and turning off lights.
• Present the check accurately, process payment and follow company safety and security policies, reporting accidents and injuries to the manager.
• Welcome guests, anticipate their needs, assist people with disabilities and maintain professional appearance and confidentiality.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year of related work experience preferred; no supervisory experience required.
• No license or certification required.

Required skills

• Able to stand, sit or walk for long periods and move, lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds unaided.
• Good reading ability, including small print, and fine motor skills.
• Ability to work on sloping or uneven surfaces and climb stairs or ramps.
