Communications Intern

About the role

The Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) is seeking a Communications Intern to support its North Africa sub‑regional office in Rabat. The internship will last three months and offers the chance to contribute to ECA’s mission of promoting sustainable development across the continent while gaining hands‑on experience in international communications.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Communication Officer in drafting press releases, newsletters, and social media content that highlight ECA’s initiatives and research.
• Support the preparation of briefing notes, speeches, and presentation materials for senior staff.
• Monitor media coverage and compile reports on relevant economic and development topics.
• Help maintain the office’s website and digital platforms, ensuring content is up‑to‑date and aligned with ECA’s branding.
• Participate in the organization of events, webinars, and stakeholder meetings.

Required profile

• Current enrolment in a university programme related to communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal English skills; knowledge of French or Arabic is an advantage.
• Interest in economic development, public policy, and the United Nations system.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
