Contract Manager

About the role

The Manager, Contracts is responsible for all contract management activities, from policy and proposal preparation through negotiation, administration and closure. The role covers the contracting process from pre-bidding through approvals and execution, in line with the Dahir des Obligations et Contrats (DOC) and applicable Moroccan law, and works with project contracts such as design, construction and others.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare contract conditions and commercial documents (FIDIC-based, adapted to Moroccan law, in French, with Arabic where required) and release tender documents.
• Administer documents from tender to closeout, including variations (avenants) and dispute resolution.
• Evaluate proposals and bids, and represent the Company's interests in evaluations.
• Negotiate scope, schedule, pricing and invoicing with contractors, consultants and vendors, and assess contractual risks.
• Ensure retention, bank guarantees and completion certificates meet contract and legal requirements, and verify contractor insurance (TRC, civil liability, ten-year liability).
• Lead claims settlement and dispute resolution, including mediation, arbitration and litigation, and advise project managers on conflicts and claims.
• Produce daily and monthly contract and variation status reports, and coordinate with external legal counsel, notaries and authorities.

Required profile

• Bac+5 (Ingénieur d'État or Master) in Civil Engineering or a construction/development-related field; equivalent degrees accepted.
• 4-6 years in contracts with a real estate developer, contractor or consultancy in Morocco or the MENA region.
• At least 4 years in a management role and 10+ years of overall experience.
• Fluent French and Arabic, with professional English.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of the DOC, construction and urban planning law (Laws 12-90, 25-90) and off-plan sales (Law 44-00).
• FIDIC experience.
