About the role

The Authority for the Control of Insurance and Social Welfare (ACAPS) is seeking a Senior Commercial Practices Controller to join its Department for Insured Persons Protection. The role involves conducting both desk‑based and on‑site inspections of insurance companies to ensure fair commercial practices and enhance policyholder protection.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, review and classify documents submitted by insurers, including contracts, marketing materials and internal procedures.
• Identify priority control points using established templates and methodologies.
• Prepare analysis tools such as grids, check‑lists and tracking tables.
• Conduct desk‑based reviews of contracts, procedures and communication supports.
• Perform on‑site inspections, interview operational managers and verify commercial practices.
• Assess compliance of information provided to insured persons regarding advice duty, pricing transparency and contractual conditions.
• Detect deviations from regulatory, contractual and ethical rules and document findings.
• Contribute to analysis reports, draft synthesis notes and propose corrective measures.
• Support continuous improvement of control methodologies and tools.

Required profile

• Confirmed experience in regulatory control or audit within the insurance sector.
• Strong understanding of insurance commercial practices and consumer protection regulations.
• Ability to work independently, analyse complex documents and produce clear reports.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with insurers and internal stakeholders.
