Data Engineer - Data Platforms GCP

About the role

IBM Consulting is looking for a Data Engineer specialized in Data Platforms to design and build big-data solutions on Google Cloud Platform. The role combines traditional application development with advanced analytics, natural-language processing and statistical computing to support clients’ hybrid-cloud and AI initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain applications on big-data technologies, including the creation of robust APIs.
• Write, test and debug complex code to ensure high-quality, scalable solutions.
• Integrate analytics libraries and open-source NLP tools into data platforms.
• Apply statistical and big-data computing libraries to process large data sets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cloud-based data warehousing and processing frameworks.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Strong foundation in traditional application development principles.
• Experience with big-data technologies and API development.
• Familiarity with analytics libraries, open-source NLP, and statistical computing.
• Exposure to cloud-based big-data environments, preferably on GCP.
