Data Engineer

About the role

As a Data Engineer at Orange Business you will design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures that support the company’s data strategy across cloud and on‑premise platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ingestion, transformation, modeling and warehousing pipelines using Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, NiFi and cloud services (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
• Lead migration of on‑prem Big Data use cases to Azure‑based platforms and implement data cubes for OLAP analysis.
• Automate workflows, deploy in DevOps environments and manage both real‑time streaming and batch processing.
• Optimize SQL queries, data lake ingestion and query performance while ensuring data quality, security and compliance.
• Document technical specifications, provide support and stay updated on emerging Big Data and cloud technologies.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering large‑scale data engineering projects in Big Data ecosystems.
• Strong analytical mindset, excellent communication in English and French, and ability to work autonomously in an agile, fast‑paced environment.

• Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Hive, YARN, NiFi, Oozie, Kafka)
• Spark (Scala, Python, Java)
• Advanced SQL and query optimisation
• Cloud platforms: Azure (Data Factory, Synapse, Power BI), AWS, Google Cloud
• Microsoft Fabric, Power BI dashboard development
• Kubernetes, Linux scripting, container orchestration
