Data Evaluation Specialist (Academic Pilot)

About the role

FactTrace is seeking a part‑time, remote Data Evaluation Specialist to support its AI truth‑infrastructure project. The position is designed for PhD candidates or recent doctoral graduates in STEM or Law who can combine rigorous academic research with systematic data annotation.

Key responsibilities

• Extract factual assertions, numerical data and logical statements from complex text sources.
• Verify each claim against primary literature, legal or scientific records and assess its accuracy.
• Apply project‑specific annotation guidelines to tag claim types, check‑worthiness and contextual nuances.
• Identify ambiguous edge cases, document inconsistencies and work with technical leads to refine evaluation rules.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or holder of a PhD/Doctorate (or advanced research Master’s) in a STEM discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Natural Sciences) or Law.
• Advanced professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Exceptional logical reasoning, critical thinking and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to follow structured evaluation rules consistently across data batches.
