Database Administrator (MySQL & MongoDB)

About the role

Pay10 is seeking a skilled Database Administrator with hands‑on expertise in MySQL and MongoDB to join its technology team. The DBA will design, implement, secure, monitor, and optimise databases that power mission‑critical FinTech applications hosted on on‑premises servers.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, deploy and maintain high‑availability MySQL and MongoDB environments.
• Implement advanced replication, sharding and clustering to achieve 99.99% uptime.
• Perform query optimisation, schema tuning and indexing for transactional and analytical workloads.
• Design and execute backup, recovery and disaster‑recovery procedures meeting strict RPO/RTO targets.
• Automate database provisioning and configuration using Terraform and Ansible.
• Support CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab) for database schema changes.
• Build monitoring dashboards with Prometheus, Grafana and Percona Monitoring.
• Ensure database security and compliance with PCI‑DSS, SOC standards, managing encryption and fine‑grained access control.

Required profile

• Proven experience with MySQL and strong knowledge of NoSQL concepts, preferably MongoDB.
• Ability to work with other NoSQL systems (e.g., Cassandra, DynamoDB, Redis) and adapt quickly.
• Hands‑on Linux administration, Docker containerisation and automation scripting (Python, Bash or Go).
