Diagnosis Function Owner - Automotive Diagnostics

About the role

Join Bertrandt as a Diagnosis Function Owner, leading the development and integration of diagnostic functions for automotive ECUs and vehicle systems.

Key responsibilities

• Own diagnostic functions throughout the development lifecycle.
• Define, coordinate, and maintain diagnostic functional requirements.
• Coordinate diagnostic topics with development, systems engineering, testing, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure consistent implementation of diagnostic functions across relevant ECUs and vehicle systems.
• Review and approve diagnostic specifications and technical concepts.
• Analyze and clarify technical issues, dependencies, and change requests.
• Support integration, testing, validation, and release activities.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field.
• Professional experience in automotive diagnostics, systems engineering, or function ownership.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics and ECU communication.
• Good understanding of UDS and relevant diagnostic standards.
• Experience in automotive E/E and software development projects.
• Experience with requirements and issue management tools such as DOORS, Jira, Polarion, or comparable tools.
• Strong analytical and structured working style.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Very good English skills; German is an advantage.
• Knowledge of CAN, CAN FD, DoCAN, and DoIP.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and databases.
• Knowledge of Automotive SPICE (ASPICE).
• Understanding of E/E architectures and ECU networks.
