Director of Specialist Sales for SME – Africa

About the role

Mastercard is looking for a dynamic Director to lead SME specialist sales across Africa, focusing on North‑African fintechs and large issuing banks. The role will drive the sales strategy, create value propositions and accelerate adoption of Mastercard’s payment solutions for small and medium‑enterprise customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with Mastercard’s North Africa objectives.
• Lead and mentor a high‑performing team of 4+ sales professionals.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify market opportunities and drive revenue growth.
• Build and maintain executive‑level relationships with key clients and partners.
• Represent Mastercard at industry events and speak on payment trends.
• Understand fintech and issuing bank needs for SME customers and craft differentiated value propositions.
• Oversee strategic account planning and ensure alignment with client SME priorities.
• Drive adoption of Mastercard’s innovative payment solutions for SME customers across North Africa.
• Develop compelling business cases that showcase the value of Mastercard solutions.
• Manage Salesforce (SFDC) data and reporting to support sales activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior sales leader in the payments, fintech or banking sector.
• Deep knowledge of the North‑African market and SME customer dynamics.
• Track record of building and leading high‑performing sales teams.
• Strong executive presence and ability to forge strategic partnerships.
