Drone System Validation Technician and Pilot

About the role

As a Drone System Validation Technician and Pilot you will join Harmattan AI’s new Moroccan team to support field testing of autonomous defense drones. Working closely with a validation engineer, you will prepare, operate and evaluate both existing systems and a locally‑developed fixed‑wing platform in real‑world conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the validation engineer in setting up and running test campaigns, including building tooling, fixtures and test setups.
• Pilot drones during routine and demanding flights, acting as safety operator and ensuring compliance with test protocols.
• Deploy test sites from scratch, load and connect aircraft, ground equipment, antennas and radios, and manage multi‑day field deployments.
• Execute test checklists, record results, report anomalies and their frequency to engineering teams.
• Maintain and upgrade test equipment through soldering, wiring, mechanical assembly, part replacement and in‑house CAD/3D‑printed tooling.

Required profile

• Technical degree or equivalent hands‑on experience in electronics, mechanics or RC modelling.
• Certified fixed‑wing pilot with line‑of‑sight and FPV experience, essential for operating the locally‑developed aircraft.
• Strong manual skills, safety‑conscious and organized with a DIY mindset.
