About the role
The ERA:AI Fellowship is a ten‑week intensive research program based in Cambridge. Fellows design and execute an original AI safety or governance project while receiving mentorship from leading experts at organisations such as Google DeepMind, Anthropic, OpenAI, the UK AI Security Institute, RAND and the University of Cambridge.
Key responsibilities
- Define and lead an independent research project in AI safety, governance or technical governance.
- Collaborate closely with assigned mentors and contribute to the broader research community.
- Produce high‑quality research deliverables, including reports, papers or policy briefs.
- Present findings to peers, mentors and partner institutions.
Required profile
- Open to candidates from any academic or professional background, including students, recent graduates and experienced professionals.
- Demonstrated interest and aptitude for AI safety, AI governance or related research topics.
- Advanced proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
