Field Deployment Engineer

About the role

As a Field Deployment Engineer at Harmattan AI, you will lead the end‑to‑end deployment, installation, commissioning, and sustainment of advanced defense systems at client sites. You will become the on‑site technical authority, mastering both hardware and software components, and training client teams to operate the systems independently.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments to identify prerequisites, constraints, and installation requirements.
• Install, assemble, connect, and bring up physical hardware components on‑site.
• Install, configure, and parameterise Linux‑based software for each operational context.
• Commission the full system, verifying end‑to‑end functionality across hardware and software.
• Support integration of Harmattan AI systems with client environments alongside integration engineers.
• Perform on‑site testing, acceptance activities, and obtain client sign‑off.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and networking issues, feeding findings back to engineering.
• Develop deep system expertise, operate the system proficiently, and serve as the technical reference on‑site.
• Train and coach client operators and maintainers, building documentation and enabling autonomy.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and return‑to‑service procedures.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of hands‑on field or technical experience in field operations, systems integration, testing, or manufacturing.
• Proven ability to deploy both hardware and software components in complex environments.
• Comfortable working on Linux platforms and handling networking configurations.
• Willingness to travel extensively and stay on‑site for extended campaigns.
