Field Deployment Engineer Lead

About the role

As the Field Deployment Engineer Lead at Harmattan AI, you will serve as the senior technical authority on‑site for the deployment of advanced defense systems. You will own the end‑to‑end functionality of hardware and software solutions, lead a team of deployment engineers, and train customer personnel to achieve operational autonomy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead on‑site deployment of hardware units, ground infrastructure and control software from site survey through customer acceptance.
• Own system functionality in the field across hardware and software layers and act as the senior escalation point for technical issues.
• Guide and coordinate a team of Field Deployment Engineers, ensuring quality execution and team development.
• Oversee system configuration, testing, validation and manage the acceptance process to customer sign‑off.
• Deliver expert training to customer teams on operation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software and integration issues; document and escalate unresolved blockers.
• Serve as the primary field interface with engineering, programme and product teams, feeding field findings back to product development.
• Produce rigorous deployment, acceptance and training documentation and maintain records of site configurations and resolutions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in field deployment, systems integration or technical commissioning of enterprise‑grade or complex electronic systems.
• Proven experience leading a team of engineers in field or operational environments.
• Hands‑on experience with hardware and software integration in operational settings; experience with complex sensing or control systems is a strong plus.
• Strong systems‑level understanding with the ability to troubleshoot across hardware, software and connectivity layers.
