Field Support Engineer

About the role

The Field Support Engineer joins the Operations team of Secure Land Communications, working within the Customer Test & Support department. You will be the primary technical point of contact for customers, handling incidents, integrating networks, and conducting acceptance tests on site.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and resolve customer incident requests, providing telephone or remote assistance.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and verify corrections for complex telecommunication systems.
• Participate in technical preparation and execution of roll‑out or upgrade projects.
• Collaborate with R&D to validate fixes and support proposed resolutions.
• Travel to customer sites worldwide as needed to perform integrations and acceptances.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience in telecommunications or IT.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and capacity to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills in both English and French.
• Team spirit, autonomy, and meticulous attention to detail.

Required skills

• Cisco and Juniper networking equipment.
• Linux (RedHat) and Windows operating systems, including virtualization and containerization.
• VMware, Active Directory, and general IT security concepts (authentication, encryption, firewalls, VPN, SSL/IPsec).
• IP networking protocols: IPv4, IPv6, VLAN, OSPF, VoIP, Mobile IP.
• Agile methodology and test automation tools such as Robot Framework and Python.
• Experience with radio/terminal platforms, Airbus Tetra, and Help Desk support.
