Finance Intern

About the role

Abbott is seeking a Finance Intern to support its financial planning and analysis activities. The role offers exposure to SG&A budgeting, cash‑flow monitoring and vendor payment processes within a global healthcare environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly SG&A trackers, compare actuals to plan and analyse department budgets.
• Follow up on vendor and supplier payments to ensure timely settlement of Abbott dues.
• Assist the FP&A manager with weekly sales flash and LBE reporting.
• Support month‑end close activities, including actual reporting and preparation of monthly financial reports.
• Help create cash‑flow forecasts and monitor cash‑flow results against different scenarios.
• Track receivables and coordinate with distributors to secure timely payments.

Required profile

• BTS in Accounting or a first‑degree in Commerce or Economics.
• Up to six months of experience in accountancy or financial analysis.
• Knowledge of GAAP and local reporting requirements.
• Advanced spreadsheet skills.
• Exposure to multinational environments.
• Fluency in English and French; Arabic is a plus.
• Strong background in GL and planning systems, as well as Microsoft tools.
• Highly organized with strong time‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel / spreadsheet modelling.
• Understanding of GAAP accounting principles.
• Experience with general‑ledger (GL) systems.
• Familiarity with planning and budgeting software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
