Finance Manager – Middle East & Africa

About the role

Harmattan AI is seeking a Finance Manager for its Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, based in Morocco. You will be the sole finance owner initially, building a team of country finance correspondents as the regional footprint expands and partnering with commercial teams on government contracts and industrial investment projects.

Key responsibilities

• Own financial management of regional entities, including accounting, controlling, and monthly/annual closings on the Group calendar.
• Run vendor invoicing, payroll entries and payments within Group controls, and coordinate local tax, statutory compliance and audits.
• Support intercompany framework: invoicing, management fees and transfer‑pricing documentation.
• Manage local banking relationships, cash positions, letters of credit, guarantees and trade‑finance instruments for government contracts.
• Design financing solutions for specific projects and set up banking and finance for new regional entities.
• Act as finance business partner to sales, business development and marketing, building long‑term business plans for industrial investment projects.

Required profile

• Approximately 10 years of senior finance experience, including ownership of multiple legal entities in an international group.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business; a Master’s or local accounting qualification is preferred.
• Solid foundations in accounting, controlling and corporate finance, with hands‑on experience in month‑end closings and coordination of external firms.
• Hands‑on experience with trade finance: letters of credit, bank guarantees and financing structuring.
• Deep knowledge of the Moroccan banking and administrative environment, with exposure to Gulf and other MEA markets.
• Experience partnering with commercial teams; work with government or institutional clients is a plus.
• Autonomous, rigorous and pragmatic when working far from headquarters.
• Fluency in French and English required; Arabic is a plus.
