Fleet Operations Trainee – Aviation Logistics

About the role

Join Swissport’s Fleet Department as a Fleet Operations Trainee and gain hands‑on experience in aviation logistics. You will support the planning, coordination and monitoring of fleet vehicles and ground support equipment in a fast‑paced, global environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily availability of fleet vehicles and ground support equipment.
• Follow up on preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Coordinate repairs, inspections and maintenance schedules with workshops, suppliers and service providers.
• Track vehicle downtime and support initiatives to improve fleet utilisation.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts, consumables and maintenance supplies.
• Assist procurement and logistics processes, including purchase requests, orders and supplier performance.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance, inspections, licences, registrations and insurance.
• Prepare fleet performance reports, KPIs and operational dashboards.
• Support fuel consumption monitoring and cost‑control initiatives.
• Participate in fleet audits, inventory counts and compliance checks.
• Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, Finance and QHSE departments.
• Help implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Required profile

• Minimum Bac+2 education in Mechanics, Logistics, Fleet Management or related field.
• Strong interest in fleet management, logistics, transportation and operational support.
• Analytical and problem‑solving mindset.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
