French Freelance Audio Transcription & Annotation Specialist

About the role

We are seeking experienced French‑speaking language professionals to join a long‑term, remote AI data project. As a freelance transcriptionist you will work at least 10 hours per week, converting spoken French audio into accurate, annotated text.

Key responsibilities

• Transcribe audio recordings from scratch, following project guidelines.
• Review and correct machine‑generated transcripts.
• Segment audio, identify speakers, and add timestamps.
• Label pauses, fillers, overlapping speech, background noise, and other audio events.
• Maintain high quality standards and meet defined accuracy targets.

Required profile

• C1–C2 proficiency and idiomatic fluency in French, with strong grasp of spelling, grammar, punctuation, regional varieties and colloquial expressions.
• Good working knowledge of English to understand guidelines and feedback.
• Previous experience in transcription, subtitling, speech or linguistic data annotation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions consistently.
• Reliable computer, internet connection and headphones.
