Functional Test Engineer

About the role

SQLI, a European leader in customer experience and digital transformation, is recruiting a Functional Test Engineer to strengthen its teams of 2,200 people across 12 countries. The role covers functional testing of web, mobile and API services, with a focus on manual testing and basic automation.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse functional requirements, define the test approach and ensure traceability between requirements and test coverage.
• Design, structure and run functional test scenarios (manual and basic automation) across web, mobile and API layers, with documented test evidence.
• Prepare test environments, manage test data and help improve QA practices, tools and methodologies.
• Identify, report and track defects and work with development, product and business teams to ensure functional quality.
• Take part in Agile ceremonies and guide junior testers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in functional testing.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments; ISTQB certification appreciated.
• Analytical, detail-oriented and autonomous, with strong English communication skills.

Required skills

• Solid manual functional testing on web and/or mobile apps, with clear test cases, execution and reports.
• REST APIs, JSON/XML and validation with Postman or similar.
• Test management: Jira, Xray, TestLink, HP ALM.
• Multi-device testing (BrowserStack, iOS/Android); CMS/ERP exposure (Drupal, Hybris/HMC) is a plus.
• Basic automation with Selenium, Karate, Katalon or similar.
• Confluence and Microsoft Teams.
