GNC Engineer – UAV Autonomous Systems

About the role

Harmattan AI is seeking a GNC Engineer to join its UAV team and create cutting‑edge guidance, navigation, and control solutions for autonomous defense systems. You will move algorithms from simulation to embedded hardware and support live flight testing.

Key responsibilities

• Develop navigation and sensor‑fusion algorithms for UAV platforms.
• Design and implement flight‑control laws, filtering, and estimation strategies.
• Run Monte‑Carlo, SITL and HITL simulations and perform extensive coverage testing.
• Analyse flight‑test data to refine performance and support full‑stack integration of GNSS, INS/IMU, localisation and fusion.
• Maintain and evolve a flight‑proven computer across multiple UAV platforms.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (BSc or MSc) in computer science, engineering or related field.
• 3+ years experience in aerospace GNC systems.
• Strong foundation in control theory, estimation and sensor integration.

Required skills

• Proficient in Python and embedded C/C++.
• Experience with simulation tools such as Gazebo.
• Version control using Git.
• Familiarity with open‑source autopilots (PX4, Ardupilot, Betaflight).
• Hands‑on electronics skills: debugging, soldering and harnessing.
